eFIG offers a wide range of services and benefits to its members, the most significant being able to join forces with other companies in the same business to promote and work together to improve standards across the industry. eFIG also stands as a mark of distinction for all of its members, and it is used by potential customers as a sign of a good Interior Landscaper.

Benefits of Membership

Representation

eFIG represents the Interior Landscaping Industry as a group, so the influence we have is far greater than the sum of our parts, eFIG is in dialogue with government bodies and other organisations and associations (DTI, HSE, DEFRA, Plants For People to name a few) to promote and protect our business.

Website

The eFIG website represents the industry as a whole, and is independant and unbiased. The website has a variety of uses, including providing a valuable source of information, allowing members to interact through the eFIG Community, directing potential customers to Interior Landscapers in their area, and keeping members up to date on the latest training and events from eFIG. Your member profile can include a link to your own website, thus increasing traffic and therefore gaining you more business - a valuable marketing tool.

Business Opportunities

New business development opportunities arise from being a member of eFIG. Enquiries from prospective clients come from the eFIG website under “Find an eFIG Contractor” and from eFIG continuously advertising the benefits of plants to specifiers. eFIG membership proves to potential customers that your business is reliable and knowledgable, and is a mark of distinction.

Training

eFIG has devised a completely bespoke training programme, providing relevant, high quality training specifically for the Interior Landscaping Industry. The training is available for Technicians, Supervisors and Managers to improve the overall standards within our industry. Courses leading to eFIG accreditation are held on a regional basis and have already proved extremely beneficial to our existing members. Training is available to all, however, eFIG members receive priority booking and significant discounts.

DVD Library

eFIG have invested in an extensive library of training DVDs which are available free of charge for eFIG members to borrow. These DVDs can supplement the eFIG training programme, and can be used in-house to raise standards and provide invaluable training to technicians.

Testimonials from eFIG Members

"Since joining eFIG, I have had many opportunities to 'pick the brains' of others in the industry whom I have met through the shows and meetings, not least of which has been the sourcing of a cheaper supply of quality plants.

I have also benefited from realising that the problems I face with my small business are very much the same as others. Learning how they have gone about dealing with them has been extremely helpful. Building a business is never easy but how much better it is if you can fall back on others experience to help you through. This is part of what eFIG is about and of course ultimately is helping me develop a thriving and successful business.

"There are many reasons why we joined and actively support eFIG: there is no other organisation promoting our industry; eFIG is an alliance of nearly all the major contractors and suppliers with each member having one vote and an equal voice; eFIG presents a united voice for our industry and will inform and educate our target market growing it for all our benefits; eFIG is encouraging our suppliers who benefit from contractors orders to put something back for all our benefits.

Graham Prince, Plantforce

"I have not regretted joining for a number of reasons:

1) I have met some very interesting people involved in the interior landscaping industry, and that would have been very difficult in the wilds of Norfolk.

2) I feel that I am part of a ‘club’ where ideas and problems can be shared.

3) I have received work through being a member (I am in profit!), at the moment this has been all sub-contract work, but as eFIG becomes the industry standard (like a Kite mark) then I anticipate more work through my membership.

4) I have, with my staff, attended the training course on pests and diseases, and will be attending any future course that is relevant, as I feel that education is vital to ensuring high standards within the industry.

5) I have, and will be attending the shows and exhibitions that eFIG organise (what a change from BALI and IFTEX!).

Whilst I have been writing this I have been contacted by another eFIG member to quote for more work…. more evidence that the ‘club’ works!!
