Taking a leaf out of Interior Landscapers’ books ...

Taking a leaf out of Interior Landscapers’ books, the domestic market is getting into the habit of renting Christmas trees too.
Trees for Rent in Dorset have increased their supply this year from 500 to around 1500 trees. All trees are grown in pots from seed so their roots aren’t cut back to get them in the pots!
Customers can collect their tree from the company’s base in Charminster or it can be delivered and collected after Christmas. Trees for Rent offer Spruce or Frasir Firs. The company is run by Peter and Joanna Hunt who say that when the trees are too large to be rented they will be planted out on the land or offered to businesses to improve their landscape and help neutralise carbon emissions. ‘Because they are pot grown they have a very high success rate when transplanted.’
They believe this is an eco-friendly way to enjoy Christmas trees; they aren’t cut down for a couple of week’s decorative use and then destroyed.
Trees for Rent is looking at environmentally friendly ways of extending this service all over the UK.
